“Barrier Free” - In the Commercial door industry, we must always consider how our doors effect every person that may enter that space.

Here is the main door of a barrier free (handicap) washroom. This washroom has 2 doors, both interconnected and require to be locking. With a small twist, this area must be secure after hours. So, the deadbolt, when thrown, turns the door operator off.

“Kickoff” - This week we kicked off a door hardware installation in Kitchener. Working with our friends at @proablelondon and @ballconstruction1923 .

On a building of this size, it’s important to make sure the smaller items like hinges were not missed being shipped to site.

Taking the time in the first few days makes sure the install will progress smoothly.

“Retrofit” - this week we finished a ceiling hung stainless steel install from @hadrian_inc.

This renovation was a retrofit install in a meat processing facility outside of Guelph.
It offered a different set of challenges than a new build but the result is very clean!

“Auxiliary locks” - This week was very busy for our team. We are wrapping up a project at Western and starting a project at Maple Leaf foods’ new plant in South london.

It felt really good to get back to installing door hardware again on Friday. These Auxiliary locks in Windsor are to stop people from entering where they shouldn’t, while still allowing emergency exit in the event of a fire or emergency.
